The developers and managers of Read the Scriptures.com are Wayne and Deann Dixon.


Wayne Dixon has more than ten years of experience as a Systems Analyst and Programmer/Developer with a privately owned Online Training Management company. Over the past five years he has achieved the professional status of expert consultant in using the Microsoft.NET framework and SEO, and because of his advanced ability to combine the newest programming languages. Due to his uncommonly diverse programming skills, his strong problem-solving abilities, and his creative mind, Wayne is able to design unique innovations for web and software applications. He graduated from Lethbridge (Alberta) Community College with honors in Computer Information Systems, and enjoys camping, hiking, music, playing guitar, and wood-working. Wayne currently resides in Riverton, Utah with his wife, Deann, and their four children.

Deann Dixon has worked as Project Manager and Artistic Director for an Online Training Management company, developing and directing numerous e-learning programs and projects over the past six years. Her knowledge, creativity, practical business experience, constant commitment to quality, and sharp eye for detail drives the company's content-development and graphic-design processes. Prior to working in the online training industry, she graduated from the Teacher Assistant program at Grant MacEwan Community College in Edmonton, Alberta, and has more than eighteen years experience within clerical, administrative, and teacher-assisting capacities. Deann is originally from Barrhead, Alberta, and she enjoys photography, baking, gardening, camping, hiking and spending time with her family.

Richard Castillo is a self starter and natural leader. He has been involved in the distribution industry for several years, having developed several distribution center realignments. Due to his excellent ability to forecast, many companies have saved extensively on costs and services. He has distributed several motion pictures, from the authoring and development stages to fulfillment. More recently, Richard has been involved in the web development industry, where he has gained extensive knowledge in search engine optimization. Richard has served in several administrative capacities throughout the years, giving him the ability to relate closely with employees as well as build relationships of trust and integrity. Richard studied pre-med at Mt. San Antonio College, practices Jiu Jitsu, and is an avid mountain biker. He served a mission to India and speaks Tamil and Spanish. He resides in Sandy, Utah with his wife, Jennifer, and their four children.

The concept for Read the Scriptures.com originated while Wayne was watching the October 2005 General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and contemplating President Gordon B. Hinckley's recent challenge to all church members to read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year. He thought of developing this program for his own use, and then realized the potential of how such a system could benefit others as well.

The following quote from President Ezra Taft Benson, featured in the October 2005 Ensign, verified to them that it would be a positive service to build and provide:

"The time is long overdue for a massive flooding of the earth with the Book of Mormon for the many reasons which the Lord has given. In this age of electronic media and mass distribution of the printed word, God will hold us accountable if we do not now move the Book of Mormon in a monumental way."
