How It Works

Once you have created and are logged in to your account:

1. Click "Create Schedule".
2. Step 1: Choose your Reading Selection.
3. Step 2: Select your desired Reading Schedule (select Custom Schedule, if available, to create your own).
4. Step 3 (optional): Select an alternate Starting Point
5. Step 4 (optional): Select an alternate Starting Date
6. Check the box to include this reading schedule in your reading teams, and click "Submit".

You will immediately receive your first daily or weekly reading in your email inbox, with audio links included for the scripture schedules. Create as many various reading schedules as you wish (maximum two per book).

When you have completed your daily or weekly reading, click on the "Completed" button at the bottom of each email to receive the next reading assignment the following day*/week**. Your next reading assignment will only be emailed to you once you have clicked on the "Completed" button. If you would like to read ahead, click on "Send More" to receive the next reading selection immediately. * 12:00 AM, MST (Mountain Standard Time - North America) ** Monday 12:00 AM, MST (Mountain Standard Time - North America)

Alternatively, you may login to your account and click the "Read Online" button beside each schedule to open your scripture reading at your current position. Click the "Completed" button at the bottom of the reading to advance your schedule and return you to your account to view your progress. If you wish to read more, the "Read Online" button will have changed to "Read More" and will open the next scheduled reading. The email you receive the following day will then correlate with the position you have advanced to online.

Online reading includes the following features:

• Note-taking to correlate with each verse
• Highlighting your favorite sections
• Adding verses to a list of favorites
• Increasing or decreasing the font size
• Changing your schedule position either ahead or behind, up to 10 days at a time - convenient if you complete some reading from your printed book and wish to modify your online position

If you read from your scripture reading schedule online, or read the scriptures in the non-scheduled version, you have the ability to include personal notes with each verse.

On your online reading page, click on the note icon located at the front of each verse . This will open a menu box with the available options. Select Add Note. A textbox will open below the verse for entering your personalized notes. Your notes will be saved when you click on the "Complete" button at the end of your reading or if you click on the note icon again to close the textbox. A green note icon indicates the verse/s for which notes have been saved.

To view your notes:

• Click on "My Notes" from the My Account dropdown list.
• Click on the book of scripture tab to view the list of all saved notes within that book.
• To edit or add to your notes, click on the scripture reference to open the chapter in the non-scheduled reading version of the scriptures.
• A green note icon indicates the verse/s for which notes have been saved.
• Click on the note icon to make any changes or add additional notes.
• Your notes will be saved when you click on the "Previous | Next" button, or if you click on the note icon again to close the textbox.

You can export your notes for printing by clicking on "Export Notes".

Also, if you read from your scripture reading schedule online, or read the scriptures in the non-scheduled version, you can highlight your favorite scriptures.

On your online reading page, click on the note icon located at the front of each verse . This will open a menu box with the available options. Select your desired Highlight Color. Then click and select any text or verse you wish to highlight (maximum one verse at a time). You may use multiple colors, and your highlighting will be saved and will be viewable every time that scripture is accessed!

If you wish to delete the highlighting from a verse, click the note icon at the beginning of that verse and select "Remove Highlighting".

To view your highlighting:

• Click on "My Highlights" from the My Account dropdown list.
• Click on the book of scripture tab to view the list of all saved highlights within that book - ordered according to highlight color.
• To edit or add to your highlighting, click on the scripture reference to open the chapter in the non-scheduled reading version of the scriptures.
• Click on the note icon to select your highlighting color, or to select "Remove Highlighting".

Click "My Journal" to make secure and private online Journal entries.

• Click on the clock icon to set up daily, weekly, or custom email reminders.
• Enter a title for your entry.
• Click "Add Picture" to upload a picture with a description to each entry.
• Enter a date or use the calendar to make or update past entries.
• Click "View" to compile and print your complete journal.
• Click "Export to Word" to download and print or save.
• Search within all entries - enter a word in the text box and click "Go".

Having a private Scripture Reading Team is a wonderful way to track and motivate friends' and family members' reading progress.

• Select "My Teams" from the My Account dropdown list.
• Click on "Create Team" to enter and submit a name for your new team.
  
  - This team name will appear under your My Scripture Teams list. Click on this team name to view, build and manage your team.
  
  
• Click on "Invite" and the email address of each individual you wish to invite to your team, then "Send Invite".
  
  - As each member receives their invitational email, they will click on the link provided within that email to join your team. They will be prompted to login to their account and then they will be automatically added to your team. (If they do not already have an account, they will first be required to Sign up, and then will need to click on the link within the email.)
  
  - Once they have accepted the invitation and have joined your team, their name, book schedule/s and progress bar/s will appear with yours on the "Member Progress" tab.
  
  
• Click "Settings" to choose the reading selections you wish to include and display in the team.
• Use "Comments" to view all the team member comments that have been submitted to the team. Click "Post A Team Comment" to submit a new comment or discussion to the entire team.
  
  - Each team member will receive an email notification when new comments are posted to the team.
  
  - When viewing the comments, each member will be able to "Edit" or "Delete" their own messages. The team owner has the ability to "Edit" or "Delete" any or all messages.
  
  
• Under the "Member Comments" tab, each team member:
  
  - Can upload their own profile picture, by clicking on the "No Photo" box. This will re-direct to your "Profile" page where you can browse to locate a picture to upload.
  
  - Can upload their favorite quote/scripture. Enter your favorite quote or scripture in the box on your "Profile" page of your account to have it display beside your picture in your teams.
  
  - Click on other team members' image icon to view their picture and favorite quote or scripture.
  
  - Click on each team members' progress bar to view schedule statistics.
  
  - Send a Prompt to any other team member by clicking on the Prompt icon, and then select which prompt you wish to send to an individual team member. It includes a message that will be sent, or modify the message as you wish. It can be a prompting for motivation or a comment of praise. That team member will receive an email indicating they have received a prompt in the Notifications section of their Read The Scriptures Mailbox.
  
  
• Click the "Challenges" tab to select a team that your team would like to challenge!
  
  - Select the other team from the list, and click "Send Challenge".
  
  - The owner of the other team will receive an email allowing them to accept the challenge.
  
  - From that point, both teams will be displayed side by side, with a read flag indicating which team is ahead in their reading.
  
  - Click the "View Team" link under the displayed team names to view the list of team members and send Prompts.

Note:

• You may create up to 20 different teams of your own, but you are unlimited to the number you can join and therefore view within your account.
• Only the team creator may invite members to the team.
• Only the team creator may delete a team.
• You can make this fun!

If you read from your scripture reading schedule online, or read the scriptures in the non-scheduled version, you can add scriptures to a list of your favorites.

On your online reading page, click on the note icon located at the front of each verse. This will open a menu box with the available options. Select "Add to Favorites".

To view your favorites:

• Click on "My Favorites" from the My Account dropdown list.
• Select the book of scripture tab to view the list of all saved favorites within that book.
• Click the scripture reference to open the entire scripture chapter.
• Click "Remove" to delete a verse from your favorites list.

Enjoy a safe and private social network with your other Read the Scripture friends.

To view your friends:

• Click on "My Friends" from the My Account dropdown list.
• Select "Find Your Friends" and enter your friend's name to search for them.
• Click "Add to Friends" to have a friend invitation emailed to them to accept.
• As your friends accept the invitation, they will list under your "Friends" tab.
• At this point, you can click their name to view their profile, view their friends, send them a private message, or send them a personalized gift.
• All sent messages, gifts, and notifications will appear in My Mailbox, under the My Account link.
